If you want to work hard, learn new skills, save money, work as a team and have pride in building your own new home, this program is for you. Color Country Community Housing, Inc (CCCHI) in partnership with the USDA Rural Development Agency is offering the Mutual Self Help Program (MSH). CCCHI is currently building new homes in partnership with families throughout various areas of Southern Utah and Nevada. Low- and Very-Low income families and individuals can build sweat equity into their new homes by participating in the construction process with the help of our skilled staff who will train you in the various skills needed to complete your new home. Six to eight families work together as a group and provide approximately 65% of the labor. This labor not only acts as the down payment, but can reduce the price of your home by as much as 25%. There may be additional assistance available for qualified families, such as a mortgage with a reduced interest rate, keeping the monthly house payments affordable.

Requirements to participate include:

  • Your income must be less than 80% of the area median income for your particular county.
  • You must have a willingness and ability to pay your monthly obligations on time.
