Sunflower Heights is a ten-lot subdivision that initiated our Mutual Self-Help Program. Four 4-bedroom town homes and six 3-bedroom town homes ranging in size from 1500 to 2000 square feet were constructed. The 3-bedroom model won first place in design at the National Mutual Self-Help Conference in 2001. Through this program, low- and very-low income families moved into their new homes with over $20,000 in equity.

Country Lane Subdivision located in an established neighborhood, on Cedar City's west side was the first Mutual Self Help project in that area. Seven two story homes completed the neighborhood. Square footage ranged from 1300 sq. ft. to 1600 sq. ft. These homes came with double car garages, and offered either three or four bedrooms.

Black Rock is the site for the second group of Mutual Self-Help homeowners. Five homes were completed. The homeowners chose from three different designs ranging in size from a 1350 square foot 3-bedroom model to a 1500 square foot 4-bedroom model. These homeowners had approximately $45,000 in equity when they moved into their new homes.

The Ridge is a 38-lot community developed in Enoch, a rural community Northwest of Cedar City, Utah. Eight Mutual Self-Help homes have been completed, ranging from 1350 square feet to 1500 square feet.

Nestled among market rate homes in this lovely subdivision, eight families built their own homes. After contributing many hours of labor on their own and the homes of their neighbors also participating in the Mutual Self Help program, the families created equity, saved money and have a beautiful home in which to be proud. These homes ranged in size between 1350 square feet and 1500 square feet.

Located in the valley West of Cedar City, Utah the site for this Mutual Self Help project was in a well established community of approximately 500 lots most of which already had homes constructed. A total of ten Mutual Self Help homes were built using two groups consisting of five families in each group. Special designs that utilized the attic space for future expansion as the families grow were used. Home sizes were from 2000 to 2100 sq ft.
